Part 2 - How can I successfully complete my onboarding at yoummday?

This article is about your way to yoummday and you will be guided step by step through the registration and onboarding process.

This article is a continuation of Part 1 - How can I register as a yoummday talent and starts with step 3:

3. Book an onboarding

Once all relevant documents have been uploaded to the right section in your profile, the next step is to book your onboarding appointment.

The onboarding itself is a 10-20 minute video call and a necessary step with our onboarding team to prepare you for working on our platform. After a successful onboarding appointment, all functions of your Talent account will be activated. From this point on, you can view all job offers published by our clients and send out your applications for them.

When booking an appointment, take into account that the time of the appointment is always based on the time zone set in your profile, depending on the city specified:

After you have booked your appointment, you will be taken to step 4 and additionally receive a confirmation by email. You will also find the booked appointment on your start page.

4 Your onboarding

The first thing shown at the top of the next step will be the onboarding appointment you have booked. Shortly before the start of the appointment you will be able to join the video call via the "Go to onboarding session"-button.

Make sure to take care of all necessary preparations well in advance. The appointment can't take place if any details or documents are missing!

If you are not available at the booked time, it is possible to postpone or cancel the appointment. However, please note that a new appointment can be booked a maximum of three times per week! But no need to worry, even if you exceed the number of possible appointment bookings per week, you will only be blocked from booking new appointments until the next week.

4.1 Preparation before the onboarding meeting

The requirements for working with clients can roughly be divided into spatial and technical requirements.

Spatial requirements Technical requirements
Workspace separable by a door Wired peripherals (headset, mouse, keyboad)
No other people in the room Webcam with decent enough quality
Screen not visible from outside PC with up-to-date operating system
  Stable and secure internet connection
  Mobile device with the yoummday-App

1) Your workplace:

The first step is to check your future workplace. If you do not live alone in your apartment or house, data protection reasons require that your workspace can be separated by a closed door. As you may be working with sensitive customer data depending on your project, no other person should be in the room during your working hours. It should also be impossible to see your screen through a window or balcony door.

2) Your technical equipment:

We will also check whether your technical equipment is working and whether you have the necessary hardware and software to work on our platform. To check your identity and your workspace, we ask you to make sure that your webcam and microphone are working for the onboarding interview. You will need a wired headset for the interview, which will also be necessary for working on projects at yoummday later on. We recommend a USB headset with a boom microphone. An up-to-date operating system is technically required for the work in the projects themselves. Depending on the client and their software, a specific operating system may be required (e.g. Windows). In addition, a stable Internet connection via LAN cable or at least via WPA2-encrypted WLAN is required. The requirements of the projects for this may also differ slightly.

3) The yoummday-App

Before the onboarding meeting, you will be asked to download the yoummday-App. At the bottom of step 4 you will find a QR code to install the yoummday-App as well as an alternative login code. But no need to worry, the App only takes very little space on your smartphone (9.86 MB).

The most important feature is sending your location coordinates (a more in depth explanation will follow in the next paragraph). For all other features, feel free to check out our article about the yoummday-App.

4) The videocall:

For the upcoming onboarding meeting, have your ID, your smartphone including the downloaded yoummday-App, and a wired headset with headband ready. Since only the address at which you are currently located can be verified, make sure that you are at the workplace indicated in your profile for the onboarding conversation.

Once these requirements are met, the onboarding process can begin. The onboarding meeting will take place on the yoummday platform under the category "Webcam Session". You can access this subsection via the "Go to onboarding session"-button.

At the agreed time you will be called by one of our onboarding managers. You can answer the call with one mouse click on the green button.

4.2 The onboarding process

Directly before your onboarding appointment your onboarding manager will remind you of the upcoming call via the internal yoummday inbox. You can access this inbox with a click the letter sign in the upper right hand corner of the platform:

You can also use this to contact your onboarding manager directly. Simply click on the “Reply” button within the message.

Please note: There is currently no live refresh! If you want to check whether you have a new message, you will need to refresh the website.

After a brief greeting and introduction of you and the onboarding manager, you will first be asked to show your ID to confirm your identity. A room check will then be carried out, where you show us your workspace with your camera. We will also check that your technical equipment is working and that you have a wired headset, as this is necessary for working for clients at yoummday. To confirm your work address, you will then be asked to share your current location with us via the yoummday app on your smartphone. This helps us determine your work location as accurately as possible to enable a smooth project flow with your IP-address and to confirm compliance with technical and spatial regulations. Depending on the project specifications, it is possible to work from several locations. Each work address must be specified in your profile and verified by us.

The whole process usually takes between 10 - 20 minutes. If necessary documents or hardware are missing, you have the option of booking a new appointment. Once all requirements have been met and confirmed, we will activate your account during the onboarding meeting.

5. Your next steps

If you now log in to your account again, your platform view will change.

To help you quickly find your way around your newly activated profile, our onboarding managers will give you a general introduction and advice on how to proceed. In addition, they will also give you tips on how to fill in your profile and where you can apply to currently published job offers.

If you are ever unsure of how to proceed: Your next steps are directly visible on your workspace and marked as "To-Dos". For further infos about this, feel free to check out our last article about the registration process: Part 3 - What are the next steps after the onboarding?

Once your account has been activated, you will have access to all open job offers and can also be directly contacted by clients. Our onboarding managers will of course answer your initial questions and give you advice. Naturally, you can also send your questions to the Talent-Support at any point of your journey!
