How do I set up 2 factor authentication?

In this article you will get step-by-step instructions on how to set up 2-factor authentication for your account.

Now that you have completed your onboarding, it is time to complete the to-dos. One of them is to set up the 2 factor authentication.

To do this, go to your "Dashboard" and then to the ToDo list.
There you will find the request to set up the 2 factor authentication.

Click here on the button "Set up 2FA now".

Next you will see an overview with the following steps: 

Step 1:

Please install an Authenticator app on your smartphone first, if you do not have an app installed yet. If you already have such an app installed, you can click on the button "Yes, I have installed an app" at this point.

We recommend the Google Authenticator or the Authenticator app from Microsoft. We have had the best experience with these apps so far.

As soon as you have installed one of these apps, click on the button "Yes, I have installed an app".

Step 2:

As soon as you have completed the first step, you will receive an e-mail with an 8-digit security code from us to the e-mail address you used for your registration. 

Please enter in the input field the 8-digit security code you received by mail and click on the button "Next".

Step 3:

Now you will see a QR code.

Now open the Authenticator app on your smartphone and look for the function "Scan QR code" or "Add verified ID".

You can now scan the QR code on the website. 

As soon as you have scanned the QR code, a new 6-digit Authenticator code will be generated every 30 seconds. Enter this code into the input field.

Note: Make sure that the time and time zone set on your computer and smartphone are correct. A time delay can lead to errors.

Step 4:

After you have successfully entered your Authenticator code, you will be shown a recovery code. This code will only be displayed once and cannot be retrieved at a later time.

Please save it well or write it down.

If you ever lose your smartphone or for whatever reason no longer have access to your Authenticator app, you can use this code to restore access at any time. 

Step 5:

Congratulations!

You have now successfully set up 2-factor authentication.

You will also be asked for a code from your Authenticator app the next time you log in.
