In this article we will explain what Rocket.Chat is and how you can use it to communicate with others. We will also explain how you can customize its appearance and other settings.
What is Rocket.Chat?
Rocket.Chat is our internal chat platform.
By integrating the chat into our yoummday platform, you, as a Talent, will automatically gain access to all the relevant channels as soon as you join a new project. Plus, this setup ensures enhanced data safety compared to using Discord.
In the following chapters you will find step-by-step instructions on how to use this application.
Please note: At this point in time, you can only use Rocket.Chat if you have at least one active project on our platform!

How to sort your channels and messages
Click on the sorting icon. We recommend the following settings:
- Anzeige/View = Normal or Komprimiert/Condensed
- Sortieren nach/Sort by = Name for an alphanumerical order OR by Aktivität/Activity to see the channel with the newest messages on top
- Gruppieren nach/Group by:
- Favoriten/Favorites = true
- Typen/Types = true
After adjusting your settings as described above, the categories will be sorted as follows:
- Teams (= usually your project(s))
- (Temporary) Discussions
- Channels
- Direct messages
Tip: This order cannot be customized. By grouping by Ungelesen/Unread you can display all unread channels / discussions / direct messages on top as their own section. Feel free to try out which setting is the best fit for you!
How to use favorites to pin important chats
Mark important Teams, Channels, Discussions or Private Messages (e.g. infochat) as a Favorit/Favorite to also display them at the top as their own section.
Please note: Your favorites are automatically sorted by the same order you've set for the other categories (alphabetical / by Activity).

Troubleshooting
If you’re experiencing any technical hiccups while using Rocket.Chat, like display errors, don’t worry! A simple first step is to clear your browser’s cache and cookies. This often helps resolve smaller issues. If you need a hand with that, you can find helpful instructions on how to delete this data right here for either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
At this point in time, we recommend using the Web App in comparison to the Desktop App. This way you will not have to re-authenticate yourself every time you log in. (This is not a technical bug.)
If you're having trouble seeing all the channels you expect or encounter any other issues while using Rocket.Chat, don’t hesitate to reach out to your TTL. They’re here to help and can verify your access to all channels as well as ensure that your settings are correct!
