In this article we will explain what Rocket.Chat is and how you can use it to communicate with others. We will also explain how you can customize its appearance and other settings.
What is Rocket.Chat?
Rocket.Chat is our internal chat platform.
By integrating the chat into our yoummday platform, you, as a Talent, will automatically gain access to all the relevant channels as soon as you join a new project.
In the following chapters you will find step-by-step instructions on how to use this application.
Please note: At this point in time, you can only use Rocket.Chat if you have at least one active project on our platform!
As soon as you start working for a client, a Rocket.Chat account will be automatically created and you will see the chat widget in the lower right hand side of your talent.yoummday platform. Via this widget you can then navigate directly to Rocket.Chat. If you no longer have any contracts, the account will automatically be removed again after a month.
Please note: Starting from the 17th of February 2025, you can use Single Sign On (SSO) to log into Rocket.Chat. Your old login credentials will become invalid in a few weeks.
How to log in with Single Sign On (SSO)
Why are we implementing SSO? The goal of our new login method is to enhance the security of our project communication while making Rocket.Chat more convenient for you – no need to remember additional login credentials.
Step 1: Log in with SSO using YoummdayID

Step 2: Provide your yoummday Platform Credentials (email & password)

Step 3: Activate Email Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) (- currently not active, will become active 3. März 2025)
Providing the authentication code will be required with the first login with SSO, and after that sporadically to refresh the request

-
Find the code in your emails

-
Enter Code and click “verify”

→ You are successfully logged in with SSO.

How to sort your channels and messages

- Gruppieren nach/Group by:
- Favoriten/Favorites = true
- Typen/Types = true
After adjusting your settings as described above, the categories will be sorted as follows:
Teams (= usually your project(s))
(Temporary) Discussions
Channels
Direct messages
Tip: This order cannot be customized. By grouping by Ungelesen/Unread you can display all unread channels / discussions / direct messages on top as their own section. Feel free to try out which setting is the best fit for you!
How to use favorites to pin important chats
Mark important Teams, Channels, Discussions or Private Messages (e.g. infochat) as a Favorit/Favorite to also display them at the top as their own section.
Please note: Your favorites are automatically sorted by the same order you've set for the other categories (alphabetical / by Activity).
