How do I add my bank account details?

This article explains how to correctly enter your bank details and what you need to pay attention to.

Please note: Since October 2025, stricter regulations for SEPA transfers apply. A payout is only possible if the bank details stored with us match the details registered with your bank 100% exactly.

For non-SEPA transfers, the requirements are not quite as strict, but incorrect information can still cause problems during the transfer process.

What do you need my bank details for?

Providing your bank details is an important step in fully setting up your account.

We can only pay out your earnings on time if you have entered valid bank details. You are responsible for ensuring that your details are complete and accurate. If anything changes, please update the information in your account promptly.

Payments are always sent to the bank details stored in your account on the payout date. When updating information, please allow some buffer time. Changes made after the 16th of the month may not be processed by the system in time.

For account changes that should apply to the following month, please make them only after the 18th.

You can find payout dates in the article: "When will I receive a credit note and when will it be paid out?"

Please also review our Terms and Conditions for additional information about payout requirements.

Where can I enter my bank details?

You can view and edit your currently stored bank account information at any time in your account under: "Invoicing data & tax matters

To access it:

Click your profile picture.

Select "Account".

Open "Invoicing & Tax matters".

Scroll down to find the bank details section and save your entries.

How do I change the “Account Holder” field?

This field is automatically filled with the first and last name you entered during registration.

If your name changes:

  • Upload a valid ID document in your account.
  • Contact Support to request the update.

Please note that this process may take several days.

When should I use the “Different Account Holder” field?

You can use this field to enter:

  • Your spouse's name.
  • Your company name, if you invoice through your own business and have a separate business account.
  • An alternative spelling of your own name if the name stored in your Talent account differs from the spelling used by your bank.

Important: Anything entered here overrides the standard Account Holder field.

Once this field contains information, only this value will be used for payouts.

If the information is incorrect, your bank may reject the transfer and return it to us.

What should I pay attention to when entering the account holder/payee name?

Your name must be written using Latin characters.

  • Other alphabets, such as:

  • Cyrillic

  • Greek

Other non-Latin writing systems

cannot be processed by the system.

If your bank records use another alphabet, please ask your bank exactly how your name is converted into Latin characters.

Also pay attention to:

  • Punctuation marks (such as periods)

  • Abbreviations

  • Special characters

Only you and your bank can verify the correct spelling.

We can only notify you if a transfer error occurs.

Where do I enter my SWIFT/BIC, and what is it?

Enter your bank's SWIFT/BIC code in the designated field.

The SWIFT/BIC code is an internationally recognized identifier for banks.

BIC = Bank Identifier Code

SWIFT = Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication

It helps identify the correct bank during international transfers.

For banks participating in the IBAN system, the SWIFT/BIC can often be derived from the IBAN and may not always be required.

Providing a SWIFT/BIC code is mandatory if your bank cannot receive SEPA transfers.

Where do I enter my account number?

The IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is a standardized international bank account number designed to make international transfers easier and safer.

If your country does not use the IBAN system:

Disable the IBAN option using the checkbox below the field.
Enter your regular account number.
Enter a branch code if required.

You are responsible for ensuring your account details are correct.

We cannot be held responsible if incorrect information causes a payment to be sent to the wrong account.

What can I do if I do not know my IBAN/SWIFT/BIC?

You can usually find your banking information in one of the following places:

  • Bank statements

  • Online banking

  • Your bank card

  • Your bank branch

  • Your banking app

  • Bank documents or letters received from your bank

If you still cannot find the information, contact your bank directly.

What are SEPA and SWIFT transfers? Which one is used for me?

SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) transfers are:

  • Euro transfers within Europe (36 countries)

  • Fast (often same-day)

  • Low-cost

For SEPA transfers, only:

Account holder amd IBAN

are generally required.

SWIFT Transfers

SWIFT transfers are:

  • Worldwide international bank transfers

  • Available in different currencies

  • Typically slower

Which method will be used?

If your bank account is within the SEPA area:

We will use a SEPA transfer.

Make sure your account is enabled to receive SEPA payments.

Contact your bank if you are unsure.

If your bank account is outside the SEPA area:

We will use a SWIFT transfer.

All bank information must be completed, including SWIFT/BIC.

Account holder name and account number alone are not sufficient.

Can my payments be sent via PayPal, MoneyGram, Western Union, or another payment provider?

Unfortunately, this is not possible.

Can I use someone else's bank account?

You may use:

Your own account
Your spouse's account
Your company account (if you operate through your own business and have indicated this in your account)

You may not use:

A friend's account
An acquaintance's account
Another family member's account (except your spouse)

This requirement is also stated in our Terms and Conditions.

Can I receive payments in a different currency?

Currently, payments are made in either:

EUR (Euro)

USD (US Dollar)

The currency depends on the project you are working on.

You can see the applicable currency in:

Your project information

Your financial overview

Please ensure your bank account can receive payments in the relevant currency.

We are working on offering additional currencies and support for multiple bank accounts in the future.

What fees may apply before the payment reaches me?

We do not charge transfer fees.

However, charges may be applied by:

  • Your bank

  • Our bank

  • Intermediary banks involved in the transfer route

The amount depends on:

  • Country

  • Bank

  • Payment provider

Unfortunately, we have no control over these fees.

You may be able to reduce or avoid them by choosing a different bank and discussing international transfer conditions directly with your bank.

All payouts are issued from the German Commerzbank, typically in euros.

SEPA transfers generally result in the lowest fees.

Depending on when your account was created, a discount (skonto) may apply to earnings from managed service projects. See the article: Was bedeutet das "Skonto" bei meinen Bankdaten?

What happens if my bank details are incorrect on the payout date?

If a transfer cannot be initiated, you will immediately see that no outgoing payment appears in your financial overview.

If the transfer is initiated but later fails:

  • The outcome depends on your bank.
  • In most cases involving failed transfers, the funds are returned to us.

For SEPA transfers, strict validation usually prevents incorrect payments from being initiated.

Failed payments occur more commonly with SWIFT transfers.

Once the funds return to us:

  • They are automatically credited back to your balance.
  • Transfer fees may have been deducted by the banks involved.

If the returned funds are visible in your finances by the 16th of the month, they will usually be included in the next payout cycle.

Before the next payout attempt, please correct your bank details.

In some cases, automatic payouts may be temporarily deactivated until the issue is resolved. If this happens, you will receive further instructions by email.

How can I check whether my bank details are correct?

Your bank is always the best source for verification.

If your account is in the SEPA region, you can also use the Payee Verification feature:

  1. Start a transfer to yourself (or ask a friend to help).
  2. Enter the account holder name and IBAN.
  3. The bank will usually perform a recipient verification check.

If the verification succeeds: Use exactly the same spelling in your account.

If the verification fails: The bank may suggest the correct spelling. Otherwise, review your banking records or contact your bank directly for assistance.
