What are the hardware requirements for the IGEL Stick?

To use the IGEL Stick (UD Pocket), your hardware must meet certain minimum requirements.

Requirements for running the IGEL UD Pocket

Your laptop or desktop PC must meet the following specifications:

  • 64-bit capable CPU
  • At least 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics chipset: Intel, ATI/AMD, or NVIDIA
  • A USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 port that supports booting from USB
  • An Ethernet or Wi-Fi adapter

Important: For the Telekom project, Wi-Fi is disabled. A LAN cable connection is mandatory.

Additional requirements:

  • Apple MacBooks are not supported. Only x86-based Windows and Linux devices are supported.
  • Devices that require special drivers are not supported.

Monitor Requirements

Monitors must be connected to the laptop or desktop PC using one of the following connections:

  • HDMI
  • DisplayPort
  • DVI
  • VGA

Additional monitor drivers cannot be provided through the system. Users are also unable to download or install monitor drivers manually while using the IGEL environment.


Headset Requirements

  • A USB headset is required.
  • The following headsets are not supported:
    • Headsets with a 3.5 mm audio jack connection
    • Bluetooth headsets
    • Wireless headsets that use a USB transmitter/dongle

Additional Limitations

Please be aware of the following restrictions when using the IGEL Stick:

  • Drivers cannot be installed manually.
  • Only software provided and supported by IGEL can be used.
  • Additional software must be requested through IGEL, and availability cannot be guaranteed, nor can a delivery timeframe be promised.
